Battle of Horseshoe Bend Mar 29, 2014
Horseshoe Bend National Military Park, Daviston, AL, is the site of the Battle of Horseshoe Bend, the last battle of the Creek War on March 27, 1814. Leading the campaign, General Andrew Jackson’s plan was to attack from three directions. On our trip to visit the site, Dr. Ron Fritze will describe the battles and their results. On-site travelers will be able to visit the museum and see demonstrations of life during the times. There is a special curriculum for students who are 5-14 to earn a badge based on completing activities commemorating their visit. Lunch is on your own.
