| Diplomas & Graduation Ceremony |

Diplomas
All graduates will receive a diploma for the degree earned. A student's major or minor does not appear on the diploma, but is listed on the student's academic transcript.

Fall Semester Graduates
Diplomas will be given out at the President's Reception for graduates on a specified date. Any diplomas not picked up at that time will be mailed to the student the following week. Diploma covers will be distributed with these diplomas. Fall graduates may participate in the spring ceremony. |

Spring and Summer Semester Graduates
Diplomas will be distributed following the commencement ceremony. Diploma covers will be given to students during the ceremony. Any diplomas not picked up will be mailed to the student with a cover the following week. |
It is essential for the University to have a correct mailing address for each student in order to mail pertinent graduation information and diplomas.
If you wish to change the address on your student record, you can do this by making a request in writing to the Records Office.
Second Degree Restriction
Students may not receive more than one degree in a designated graduation period. A minimum of thirty-three semester hours at Athens State University is required beyond the conferral date of the first degree.
Ceremony Information
Detailed commencement information will be mailed to all graduating seniors who have met application deadlines.

Fall Semester
There is no commencement ceremony following the fall semester. Fall graduates will participate in the commencement ceremony following spring semester. There is, however, a President's Reception honoring fall graduates in January. Diplomas are distributed at the reception. The official graduation date for fall semester will be published in the schedule. |

Spring Semester
This commencement ceremony is held at the Von Braun Center in Huntsville, Alabama. The graduation date will be published in the schedule. Students who complete graduation requirements at the end of the fall or spring semester may participate in this ceremony. |

Summer Semester
This commencement ceremony is held on the lawn in front of Founders Hall on the Athens State University Campus. The graduation date will be published in the schedule. Students who complete graduation requirements for the Summer Semester may participate in this ceremony. |
