In Lesson 5, the idea of individualized accommodations and adaptations for learners with mild disabilities from Lessons 2 and 3, along with the idea of how teachers can build flexible, varied, and solid effective teaching within their instruction (Lesson 4), is extended. Differentiated activities and cooperative learning techniques that can occur during units of instruction are described as they relate to ways that students can practice content at individual levels within a large-class format. Mnemonic techniques that can enhance a student’s memory are also described. Before proceeding to the presentation, please print out the handout for this lesson.
