International Students
Athens State University is an upper level junior/senior university; therefore, students transferring to Athens State must have completed sixty-four (64) semester hours of general education requirements in freshman/sophomore level courses from an accredited college or university. Athens State University offers four types of degrees: Bachelor of Science, Bachelor of Business Administration, Bachelor of Arts, and a Bachelor of Science in Education.

The admission criteria for International Students are as follows:
Have 64 semester hours or equivalent from a regionally accredited institution
Provide official copies of transcripts from each college/university attended
Provide a letter stating planned major at Athens State University
Score a minimum of 500 (written) or 173 (computer) on the TOEFL score
Provide an official copy of the TOEFL score
Provide proof of health insurance while in the United States
Complete Affidavit of Support form
Provide letter from banking institution on financial status
Upon receipt of the above, an I-20 Form will be issued by Athens State University

Athens State University does not have a provision for financial aid and/or scholarship assistance to International Students.
