Athens State University is proud to celebrate our most important work, awarding diplomas to our graduates and recognizing the power of education to transform their future. The Homecoming Celebration, including the Summer Commencement Ceremony, is observed the first weekend in August and has become important not only for our new graduates, but also for our alumni.
Homecoming 2017 was celebrated on Friday, August 4 and Saturday, August 5. The celebration began on Friday with complimentary dinner, offering a chance to visit and reconnect with former classmates, faculty, and friends of the University. Live entertainment by “The Midnighters” followed dinner on the Founders Hall Stage.
The Homecoming celebration continued on Saturday at the Summer Commencement Ceremony, as we honored the Athens College Class of 1967 who celebrated 50 years since their commencement. They crossed the stage in full regalia and received special recognition prior to the awarding of diplomas for the Class of 2017.
Mark your calendar for next year’s Homecoming celebration on August 3 and 4, 2018! More details will follow as the date approaches.
