Submit

We only accept email submissions. Please send all submissions to Athenas.Web@athens.edu.

The editors will review your work within 2-4 weeks. A notification of decision will be sent to your Athens State email address and may be sent from the senior student editor’s student email.

In the case of acceptance, the editors will request that you submit a small bio about yourself to be included in the Contributor Notes section of the journal. You can include information such as your major, writing interests, hometown, favorite literature, or other appropriate personal information. Limit 75 words.

All students are encouraged to submit academic and creative work to the journal for consideration. Note, however, that due to time and space constraints we will give priority to one work per student at any given time. Exceptions will be made in the case of multiple submissions of different forms or fields. In other words, students may submit both a short story and a poem, a short story and a research paper, or multiple research papers of different fields. Subsequent submissions of the same form or field (meaning, multiple short stories

or multiple research papers of the same field) will not be prioritized. As such, we recommend that students do not send in subsequent submissions and instead wait until the next issue to submit another work.
