Athens State University’s Career Development Center hosted its Spring Career Fair on April 4. Special thank you to Runergy and Aetos Systems, Inc. for sponsoring this event.

Nearly 200 job seekers had the opportunity to network with 60 companies including several North Alabama school systems, local accounting firms, Athens-Limestone Hospital, Boeing Intelligence & Analytics, Missile and Space Intelligence Agency, Cintas Corporation, and the Defense Intelligence Agency.

Athens State also partners with organizations across North Alabama, called Learning Partnerships, to assist the employees of these organizations and their immediate family members in achieving their educational goals in career appropriate disciplines through accessible online and traditional classroom settings and an affordable, low-cost tuition structure. Several learning partners also participated in the career fair including, Madison Hospital (Huntsville Health System), CB&S Bank, Torch Technologies, Alabama Farmers Cooperative, Nucor Steel Decatur, LLC., and Wellstone Inc.

“These events are so beneficial for students because they can connect with employers from a diverse range of companies and organizations, learn about internship, co-op, and full-time job opportunities, gain valuable advice on resume building, interviewing skills, and career planning, and expand their professional network and establish meaningful connections,” said Emerald Simmons, Career Development Advisor.
