Center for Lifelong Learning to Present Leadership Lecture

Lori King TaylorAthens State University’s Center for Lifelong Learning will host a public class entitled The Power of Emotional Intelligence in Leadership on May 18, 2016 from 9 a.m. to noon.  The class will be presented by Lori King-Taylor and will be held in the Main Conference Room of the Dynetics Solutions Complex in Huntsville.

King-Taylor holds a bachelor’s degree in Adult Education from Athens State University and a Master of Education in Training and Development from Pennsylvania State University. She has over 20 years of experience working in the training and organizational development field serving as Training Director, International Training Manager, and Director of Career Development for large corporations and universities in the U.S. She had the prestigious honor of speaking at the TEDx conference in 2014.

The benefits of attending the course include discovering how feelings, reactions, and emotions affect professional relationships; learning how to work easily with different personality types; learning how to understand your emotions and how to influence the emotions of others in a positive way; learning how to achieve consensus among your co-workers faster and with fewer opportunities for misunderstanding; and learning how to identify your “triggers” and practice productive ways of reacting to them.
