The College of Arts and Science curricula is designed to prepare students for entry into the job market or for continuing education in graduate or professional school. Through its course offerings, the College seeks to engage the intellect, excite the imagination, improve the scholarship of its students, and assist its students in developing:

Majors leading to a Bachelor of Arts degree are sponsored by departments of Art, English, Government and Public Affairs, History, Psychology, Religious Studies, and Sociology.
Majors leading to a Bachelor of Science degree are sponsored by departments of Biology, chemistry, Computer Science, Government and Public Affairs, Instrumentation, Mathematics, Physics, Psychology, and Sociology.
The departments of Psychology and Sociology sponsor an interdisciplinary major in Behavioral Science leading to a Bachelor of Science degree. In cooperation with the College of Business and the College of Education, the College sponsors an interdisciplinary major in Health Science leading the Bachelor of Science degree.
The Department of Computer Science of Education sponsors a computer networking certificate program.
The College of Arts and Sciences in cooperation with the College of Education offers Licensure and Certification Track majors in Biology, Chemistry, English, History, General Science, Mathematics, Physics, and Social Science for those students who are interested in teaching in Middle School or High School. Completion of these track requirements will lead to Class B Certification in high School Education.
Pre-medical, pre-dental, and para-medical students are advised to major in either Biology or Chemistry; a program of study tailored to meet specific recommendations of a particular professional school, and leading to a Bachelor of Science degree, will be worked out for the student in consultation with his or her Faculty Advisor.
