Jason Braly,
French Press

Jason Braly has always loved art and knew he wanted to be an artist from his earliest memories.  After catching the acting bug in college, he decided to major in theatre as well as art.  He then moved to Los Angeles to pursue an acting career.  He has performed in theatre, film, and radio.  After four years in Los Angeles, he was drawn to teach and in 1997 he moved to Nashville, Tennessee to become a full time Elementary art teacher.  He is also an adjunct professor, teaching Education majors how to integrate the arts into their curriculum.  He now resides in Athens, Alabama.  His greatest joy in teaching is helping his students discover their abilities, take their ideas and experiences and turn them into a visual and tangible expression of who they are. “For me, creating is not an option; it’s a necessity; as necessary as food or sleep.  If I go more than a couple of days without creating, I start to get very difficult to live with.  I express myself in many different ways, all of which are a part of me.  When I perform, paint a picture, or make a sculpture, I take part of my energy and experiences and turn them into a form of art, an expression of who I am.  "
