Dean's Welcome
Welcome to the College of Arts & Sciences at Athens State University.

Athens State University, founded in 1822 as the Athens Female Academy, is the state's oldest institution of higher learning. We are proud of our institutional mission to provide quality undergraduate education to students from all walks of life.We are located in the beautiful Tennessee Valley area of North Alabama. The world famous Space and Rocket Center, located in Huntsville, is only 20 minutes away and the legendary home of Helen Keller, Ivy Green, is only an hour away.
