DAU Signing

On September 14th, Athens State University and the Defense Acquisition University (DAU) signed a Memorandum of Understanding that established a collaborative relationship for the purpose of creating and offering programs of instruction and certification.

This reciprocal partnership benefits both ASU students and the DAU, and is designed to allow a maximum transfer of credit as well as ease of transition for students.  For government employees, an approved course taken at Athens State University will be accepted for required training at DAU.  Athens State has long recognized that DAU offers some of the most relevant and challenging courses and this agreement allows students to receive credit for equivalent classes taken from the DAU.  It also allows ASU students or graduates who have completed appropriate coursework in logistics/supply chain management, acquisition and contract management, or enterprise systems management to apply to the DAU and receive Level I and Level 2 certifications in a number of career fields.

The Strategic Partnership defined under the Memorandum of Understanding is scheduled to begin with the Spring Semester 2012.  The memorandum will be reviewed annually, and both institutions will designate individuals to serve as a liaison for the purposes of monitoring the agreement.
