Career Services

If you are a student or alumnus of Athens State, you are eligible to register with the Career Services job placement program. There are 3 job assistance programs at Athens State University:
  1. Student Employment
Also referred to as Job Location and Development (JLD), this program assists students while in college to find a part-time, full-time or seasonal job to gain experience in a career field and aid in financing their educational expenses. Sometimes, paid and unpaid internships are also advertised through this program. Click here to download an application.
  2. Professional Placement
This program assists students who are close to graduation, to find an entry-level professional position in their chosen career field. It is recommended that students begin this process of establishing a credentials file, including a résumé, at least six (6) months before they graduate. For the educational application click here; all other majors visit this page.
  3. Cooperative Education
The Cooperative Education program provides students with work experience in their chosen field of study. The program enables students to combine classroom instruction with practical, on-the-job experience in industry, business, government, or in a service organization. The objective of the program is to develop a balance between academic and work experience in the student's major field of interest. Please click here for more information and application form.
Visit the calendar of events section for helpful information about upcoming events and job fairs.
