Testing Services

Athens State University offers certain testing programs for the convenience of Athens State University students and the community. The following tests are administered at Athens State University on a regular basis:

Basic Skills Test (BST)
Each Semester

Professional Assessment for Beginning Teachers (Praxis Series I & II)
January/March

College Level Exam Program (CLEP)
Upon Request

Defense Activities for Non-Traditional Education Support (DANTES)
Upon Request

Miller's Analogies Test (MAT)
Upon Request

Information or registration packets pertaining to these programs are available in the Evening Services Office located on the first floor in the Sandridge Student Center, and in the Bear Cage located on the second floor in Founders Hall. Other available test booklets include:

Graduate Record Examination (GRE)
Graduate Management Admissions Test (GMAT)
Law School Admission Test (LSAT)

A proctor is available for correspondence tests, and for testing students with disabilities in special circumstances. In addition, Evening Services is available to provide general assistance with admissions, financial aid, etc. Contact the Coordination of Testing and Evening Services, Dr. Bob Searcy 256-233-6540 for general testing information.
