This past October the Alabama Board of Education passed a $10 million budget to begin building Phase II of the Alabama Center for the Arts. The New Building will be home to the Theatre and Music Programs. The proposed 45,000 square foot space will be used for:

classrooms
labs for music and drama
a black-box theater
rehearsal and dressing area
a recording studio
band/rehearsal room
keyboard lab
offices for faculty and staff

The Alabama Center for the Arts is the region's premier art center and degree program. The project continues a long-standing collaborative academic effort between Calhoun and Athens State and serves as a model of academic institutional cooperation for the state.
