Our Mission
As a unit within the Office of Academic Affairs, the Center for Instructional Technology (CIT) supports the academic mission of Athens State University by working with instructors to find innovative ways of using technology to improve teaching and learning. CIT staff assist instructors with the use of Blackboard, Tegrity, Wimba and other technologies, promote effective teaching practices, and work with faculty to examine the effects of technology on student outcomes.

Our Goals
To address the specific challenges faced by faculty teaching courses in multiple formats, the Center for Instructional Technology (CIT) aims at enhancing faculty support through training, technical assistance, and availability of appropriate resources. The CIT is committed to the achievement of the following goals:

  1. provide training activities related to instructional technology
  2. provide faculty support services related to instructional technology
  3. improve the design and quality of courses
