Directions for Using FaxFinder
Username and Password
To use the FaxFinder fax server, you will need a username and password. Your username is your first name and the first three letters of your last name (no spaces between names)
Example: William Smith = WilliamSmi
If this is your first time to login, retrieve your password by clicking on Forgot Password? The password will be sent to your Athens State University e-mail address.
Access FaxFinder, enter your FaxFinder username and password.
Once you have logged in, click on USER on the main page. You can change your password, be sure to click Update when finished.
Sending a Fax
After logging in, you will need to click on Send Fax and complete the required fields in the Recipient Information box.
To sending faxes on campus or local faxes, dial the 10 digit telephone number. If it is a long distance fax, you will need to first dial 1 followed by the 10 digit telephone number.
Items to be faxed are added in the Attachments box and can be a .txt, .tiff, .pdf, or, ps.
Receiving a Fax
To receive a Fax, provide the sender with your desk telephone number – ie 256-216-XXXX or 256-233-XXXX. Incoming faxes will ring on your telephone. There is no need to answer; however, if you do, the fax will automatically re-route to your Athens email address and can be seen as an attachment in Outlook.
If you wish to have confirmation that a fax was sent, look under Options, you will need to change Send a Receipt to “always” and confirmations will be sent to your e-mail box.
