To win the title of “Alabama State Fiddle Champ”, you first must be able to win the title of Senior, Intermediate or Junior Fiddler. Then comes the “Fiddle-Off”, a showdown between flashing bow strings and talented musicians.

The Fiddle – The fiddle is any bowed string musical instrument and a colloquial term for the instrument used by players in all genres, including classical music. Fiddle playing, or fiddling, refers to various styles of music.

Buck Dancing – The definition of buck dancing and flat footing is not clearly defined. Both are also called jigging, hoedown, stepping and clogging. Buck dancers typically dance in a small area of their own, even though there can be several people dancing at once.
