April 1: American Public Works Association (APWA)
The Alabama Chapter of the APWA, in keeping with its objectives, will award one
or more $1500 scholarships for 2008. Scholarships are presented to deserving
students striving to complete educational requirements for a career path in public
works. These scholarships are provided for basic degree work only, and are not
available for post-graduate academic pursuits.

April 1: Women's Economic Development Council (WEDC) Foundation
Scholarships available for adult women who are residents of Madison County (live,
work, or attend school), have a high school diploma or GED, Members of WEDC or
WEDC Foundation, and their family members are not eligible for WEDC Foundation
scholarships. Special consideration is given to applicants whose household income
is no more than 50% about the federal poverty guidelines, women with dependents
and prior recipients of the WEDC Foundation scholarship program.

April 15: United Negro College Fund Google Scholarship
Scholarships available for students pursuing a Computer Science or Computer
Engineering degree for the 2008-09 academic year. Must be maintaining a
cumulative GPA of at least 3.5 on a 4.0 scale in their current program and entering
their senior year of undergraduate study or be enrolled in a graduate program in
08/09 academic year.

Fifteenth Annual ASIST Scholarship. The scholarship is open to adult students

individuals just entering the workforce, or displaced workers whose career plans
include a four-year degree in any field of study.

In 2009, Tylenol will be awarding a total of $250,000 in scholarship money to
outstanding students who are pursuing health-related studies. 170 scholarships

May 30: Southeastern Association of Area Agencies on Aging
Three $1000 scholarships will be awarded in the fall 2008 to students interested in
pursuing a career in Gerontology or Geriatrics. Students must be a junior, senior

southeastern states of Alabama, Georgia, Mississippi, Florida, Tennessee,
