What We Do
Scholarships
Like all universities, Athens State must offer a competitive scholarship program to attract top quality students and to assist students who have a financial need. The Foundation actively solicits funds for endowed and annual scholarships. Endowed scholarships require a $10,000 minimum to be established. This seed money can be pledged over a period of time. Annual scholarships may be established with a yearly funding commitment. Scholarship funds are always a foundation priority.

Capital Improvements
A growing student body and changing requires an institution to keep pace. The Foundation has played a significant role in recent construction projects. Contributions toward these and other building and renovation projects are vital to providing modern facilities for faculty and students.

Library Enhancement
The Athens State University library collection is one of the oldest in the Southeast. While state funds provide adequate library resources, funds are needed to provide additional periodicals, books and multi-media materials to enhance our collection.

Cultural Activities
Offering events of cultural and educational significance are important roles of the University. From speakers to musicals, the Foundation supports and sponsors events that further that mission.

Technology
Our technological world is in constant motion. It is a tremendous challenge to keep modern the University's laboratory facilities, computer hardware and software, and the multimedia equipment. The Foundation has supported these efforts to keep up with new technology.

Campus Beautification
Athens State University has one of the state's most attractive campuses. Historic Founders Hall, the campus-wide column architecture and the beautiful courtyard give the institution a charming appeal. The Foundation continues to provide funding to keep the University campus a delightful place to walk and view.
