The College of Business is nationally accredited by the Association of Collegiate Business Schools and Programs to offer the following business degree: The Bachelor of Science (B.S.) with majors in Accounting, Human Resource Management, Management, and Management of Technology.

Athens State University is approved by the Alabama State Department of Education for the training of elementary, secondary, and post secondary school teachers. The Alabama State Department of Education is a member of the National Association of State Directors of Teachers Education Certification.

Athens State's faculty and staff believe that student success is most important; we strive to assist the studen in all of their educational needs. Classes are small to encourage greater learning opportunities.
