Evaluating Information - Web Sites
Sandy evaluates several Web sites she has found, looking at their main purpose (to sell, inform, persuade, etc.), how objective the information seems, when it was last updated, if there is an author or contact listed, and if there are links or other references on the pages.
One of the best sites that she finds is a commercial site. Information about the company, its organization and purpose, and a way to contact them is readily available. It has recently been updated. The site includes links to several documents that contain useful information on Sandy's topic. Information about the authors of the documents is given, showing that they are reputable experts in their fields.
While she has found several interesting Web sites on her topic, Sandy feels that this site will be the best one for her research paper.
You have completed the section on Evaluating Information and are ready to move on to the section on Writing.
