Refining the Topic

Sandy's teacher says that the choice of "nonverbal communication" shows that she is heading in the right direction, but she needs to narrow the topic further. He suggests that she look up a few books or articles on "nonverbal communication" to see how much information is available on the different aspects of the topic such as gestures or facial expressions. He suggests that she ask one of the librarians for help.

As Sandy explores her topic further and begins to gather information, she will refine and refocus the topic. This is a process that will continue throughout her research.
