Athens State University partnered with the Limestone County Department of Human Resources to help make Christmas brighter for those in need this holiday season. As part of the Staff Senate DHR Christmas Project, Athens State staff sponsored and provided gifts for two children and two elderly community members this year.

The project is a great way for the University to give back to the Athens/Limestone community, and support in this venture has always been overwhelming. Chris Moss, presiding officer of the Athens State University Staff Senate, thanked the Athens State community for their help, saying, “I would like to send my deepest appreciation for your participation in the Staff Senate DHR Christmas project. This year we were able to sponsor two children and two elderly. Thanks for your devotion in making this service project a success. The Athens State staff always exhibits strong support for our fundraising efforts and for that, you are to be commended.”
