Teresa Suit is a graduate of Athens State University with Bachelor of Science degrees in Business Administration (1982) and Personnel Psychology (1991). Additionally, she has completed 30 hours of graduate school credit from the University of North Alabama and Amberton University. She is a published poet and is the proud mother of a daughter, Noelle.
Ms. Suit began her 30 year career at Athens State in 1982 working as a clerk in the Admission and Records Office. She assumed the duties of Secretary in the Admissions Office in 1984 and Secretary of Admissions and Records in 1987. In 1990, Ms. Suit advanced to Coordinator of Records/Registrar and then to her present position as Registrar in 2011. In 1994, Delta Mu Delta presented Teresa with the Dedicated Service Award.
Ms. Suit has been very active in the Athens-Limestone community. Among the many volunteer opportunities that she has been involved in are: substitute teacher for the Alabama Reading Institute (ARI) program, assisted at the First Baptist Family Life Center to help with the April 2011 tornado victims, PTO Treasurer as well as assisted in the Library, Counselor’s Office, PTO Room Sales and PTO Santa Shop at West Limestone Elementary School, and very active in her church. In addition to her community involvement, Teresa is an active supporter of Athens State University through her memberships in Psi Chi (National Honor Society in Psychology), Pi Tau Chi (National Honor Society in Religion), Delta Mu Delta (National Honor Society in Business), and volunteer work at the annual Old Time Fiddler’s Convention.
