FIRST SEMESTER

Sign up to take the APTT (Basic Skills Test).  This must be passed prior to TEP.  Attend Orientation Day.  Get Official Transcripts and a negative TB skin test on file in the Certification Office.  Preregister for the next semester.  Pass ED 300 with a grade of at least a C. Take your general studies courses that you still have to complete.  You must complete the program within 5 years, without having to retake classes.  (NOTE:  You can only take the following courses twice.  A grade of C is required to pass each course.  If you retake a course, both grades are recorded and averaged.)  No TEP or EL 424 courses may be transferred to ASU.

ED 324 Teaching Mathematics in the Primary Grades (Field Experience)        
PS 332 Child Psychology  (prerequisite:  General Psychology)        
SE 301 Introduction to Exceptional Learners  (Field Experience)        

SECOND SEMESTER

Schedule and complete an interview for TEP at the first of this semester - deadlines:  July 20 for Fall, October 20 for Spring, March 1 for Summer.  Complete applications for the TEP and bring them along with your portfolio.  Preregister for the next semester.  Continue working on your portfolio.  Apply for internship - March 1 for Fall, or July 20 for Spring.

PE 431 Motor Development and Physical Activities (prerequisite:  Child Psychology)            

THIRD SEMESTER

Preregister for the next semester. Continue to integrate items into your portfolio. Develop a rough draft of your résumé.  (NOTE:  AR310 and PE 431 are the only classes that can be taken after internship.)

FOURTH SEMESTER

Don't plan to take any SIR classes during your last semester.  Continue to integrate items into your portfolio.  Finalize your résumé.  Present your completed portfolio to me.   If possible, schedule no additional courses during internship.  If you have to take a course with internship, then AR 310, PE 431, or the NCLB math are recommended.  Apply for graduation.  Secure letters of recommendation from your supervisor, cooperating teachers, and me.
