Below is the list of Canvas workshops that ATLIS will be offering to faculty and adjuncts beginning the week of January 16, 2023. These workshops will be offered on a weekly basis throughout the spring and summer semesters. Faculty will have access to their spring and summer course shells for the hands-on workshops. Canvas Fundamentals 

In this 2-hour, hands-on workshop you will learn the foundational skills needed to navigate and teach a course using Canvas. At the end of the instructional period, there will be an additional hour available for faculty to receive personalized assistance from an instructional designer from ATLIS. This workshop is suitable for all faculty and adjuncts. 

Duration: 120 minutes + Optional 60 Minute Session with ATLIS Staff 

Target Audience: All full time Faculty and Adjuncts  

Prerequisites: None

Canvas Intermediate 

You will leave this workshop with the knowledge and skills necessary for building a course from the ground up. This workshop is ideal for all faculty, especially those responsible for designing and developing courses. At the end of the instructional period, there will be an additional hour available for faculty to receive personalized assistance from an instructional designer from ATLIS.

Duration: 120 Minutes + Optional 60 Minute Session with ATLIS Staff 

Target Audience: All full time Faculty 

Prerequisites: Canvas Fundamentals 

Canvas Advanced 

This workshop is centered around the advanced features Canvas has to offer such as outcomes, MasteryPaths, and Blueprint Courses. This workshop is best suited for department chairs, course leads, and those responsible for the design and development of multiple courses and course sections. 

Duration: 60 Minutes 

Target Audience: All full time Faculty, Department Chairs, Course Leads, Deans

In these 15-minute webinars, faculty and instructional designers offer tips and suggestions for creating engaging, student-centered courses using Canvas. These webinars are centered around pedagogy and instructional strategies that build on the technical concepts taught in the Canvas workshops.
