About Mike McCoy

Vice President for Finance

In July of 2010, Mike McCoy was hired as Vice President for Finance.  Prior to his appointment as Vice President, he had served as the University’s Business Manager since 2002.  His early career was spent primarily in public accountant where he focused on the areas of auditing and tax. He became a partner in a local accounting firm, Johnson, Feigley, Newton & McCoy, in 1998 but left in 2002 to pursue a career in higher education.

As a member of the finance team, Mr. McCoy has been instrumental in the University receiving unqualified audit opinions for the past fourteen years.  As Vice President for Finance, Mike serves as the Chief Financial Officer of the University and reports to the President.  He is responsible for providing executive level direction and management oversight for financial planning, budgeting and budget analysis, accounting and business operations, finance controls and reporting, investment oversight, campus maintenance and development, risk management and insurance, space planning and construction, human resources management, facilities and grounds operations, purchasing and contracts, and auxiliary enterprises.

Mike has been a Certified Public Accountant since April of 1992. He earned his bachelor’s degree in accounting at the University of North Alabama in 1990.
