The Alabama Center for the Arts 2nd Annual Juried Faculty and Alumni Exhibition will open on Thursday, September 4 and will run through Friday, November 7. An Artist Reception is planned for Tuesday, October 21 at 5:30 p.m.
The show was curated and judged by Robert Bean from the University of Alabama in Huntsville and the Huntsville Museum of Art. Bean has a studio in Lowe Mill Arts Center where he showcases his original oil paintings. His work has been shown in numerous galleries and exhibitions, both nationally and regionally.
The Exhibition, entitled “Balance,” features works of art by faculty members and alumni of Athens State University and Calhoun Community College. Many of the featured works will be available for purchase.
“We are very excited about this being our second annual event to showcase the work of our faculty and alumni,” states Center Coordinator Jennifer Bunnell. “We have in our midst and also produce so much talent and this gives us a chance to showcase that to the public.”
The gallery is open to the public from 8:00 a.m. until 8:00 p.m. Monday through Thursday and from 8:00 a.m. until noon on Fridays. The gallery is also open during Third Fridays until 8:00 p.m. and during other downtown special events.
The Alabama Center for the Arts represents a collaborative program in art between Athens State University and Calhoun Community College. More information about the Center can be found at www.alabamacenterforthearts.otg.
