The Alabama Center for the Arts in Decatur is offering 4 workshops this summer to area teachers. The workshops include two classes with a $5 fee: Adobe Illustrator Lessons and Adobe Illustrator Secrets. Two classes are offered free to enrollees: Personal Colors, Choice Based Art Classroom in Upper Elementary and Middle School.
The Alabama Center for the Arts is partnering with Athens State’s Regional In-Service Center to host these workshops. All teachers and administrators in North Alabama are invited to be a part of the series.
“These classes have been specifically identified as important due to the requests we hear from area teachers,” states Alabama Center for the Arts Coordinator Jennifer Bunnell. “We love having teachers involved and this is a way to reach local educators and let them know what the Alabama Center for the Arts offers to school systems.”
The Alabama Center for the Arts represents a collaborative program in art between Athens State University and Calhoun Community College. College coursework taught at the facility will lead to Associate of Science and Bachelor of Arts degrees with class offerings that include art appreciation, painting, drawing, computer graphics, sculpture, ceramics, pottery and a teaching major leading to licensure for art instructors.
For more information about these workshops or to register, call Jennifer Bunnell by phone at (256)260-4299 or by email.
