Alethia JordanAlethia Jordan

My name is Alethia Jordan, and I am from Huntsville, AL. I graduated from Calhoun Community College with an Associate of Science in Business Administration. I am currently pursuing a Bachelor of Science with a Human Resource Management (HRM) concentration from Athens State University with an expected graduation in May 2020. I plan to take the Society for Human Resource Management Certified Professional (SHRM-CP) exam post-graduation.

I currently serve as the President of Human Resource Management (SHRM) Student Chapter at Athens State University. I am also a member of the National Society of Leadership and Success (NSLS) and a scholar for the Women’s Economic Development Council (WEDC) Foundation.

I began my career in HR as a participant of the Summer Hire Program provided at Huntsville Utilities where I worked directly under the VP of Human Resources.  I continued the program for six consecutive summers during in which time I gained a wealth of experience in performing administrative duties and obtained basic knowledge of human resources functions.

I make a conscious effort to reach out to her community, by demonstrating the importance of leadership, hard work, commitment, dedication, and perseverance. My main career goal is to use my strengths to advance my HR career while building positive relationships in the community. Recognizing that young adults tend to learn and do by what they see, I strive to lead by example and makes it my passion to inspire others to make a difference.

Candace Stainbrook

Candace Stainbrook
Director of Community Relations

Hello, my name is Candace Stainbrook. I am a student at Athens State University. I am a “military brat” who was born in Frankfurt, Germany, but most of my life I have resided in Huntsville, AL. I started my academic career at Calhoun Community College where I received my Associate’s degree in general studies. I took a small break from school to find out what I was truly passionate about. That is when I discovered my love for Human Resources. I have two dogs that drive me crazy, but I couldn’t imagine life without them. My brother is a local police officer here in Athens, so I care deeply about the city. My guilty pleasure is watching true crime documentaries. I have a servant’s heart and love helping my community in any way that I can. I look forward to continuing to follow in God’s plan for me as I assume the role of Director of Community Relations for the SHRM Student Chapter.
