Ceremony Information

graduates

Graduation ceremonies are held at the end of each semester. At the end of the fall and spring semesters, three ceremonies are held - one for each college; Arts and Sciences, Business, and Education. Each ceremony is held in the Athens State University Carter Physical Education Center Gymnasium.

To ensure a healthy and safe environment for all graduates, guests, faculty, and staff, social distancing measures will be put into place, which limits the total number of occupants for Carter Gymnasium.

To accommodate social distancing restrictions, each graduate will receive TWO tickets for guests. While we understand this may be difficult for some graduates, it is the only way we can ensure appropriate space is maintained.  For those who aren’t able to attend, we will be streaming the live event.  Links will be made available through the Athens State University website and social media accounts.

Graduates and their guests must have their temperature screened before entering Carter Gymnasium.  Those who have a temperature greater than 100 degrees Fahrenheit will be unable to enter the building.

Guests are required to wear a mask or similar face covering.  It is requested that masks be worn at all times while inside Carter Gymnasium and only be removed for photo opportunities when outdoors.  Graduates are required to wear a mask or similar face covering but may remove their mask when crossing the stage, and having their picture taken.
