Praxis Announcements – Athens State University

Athens State offers one study session per semester for the following Praxis II tests:

  • Elementary Multiple Subjects (5031 and 5001)
  • Special Education: Core Knowledge & Applications (5354)
  • Teaching Reading (5204)

Preview sessions will be scheduled at the beginning of each semester. These sessions serve as a preview of materials/concepts for test preparation and aid students in focusing their study these three tests.

Study materials for many of the Praxis tests can be found in Blackboard under the Preparing for the Praxis II Tests organization. Study materials for the Principles of Learning and Teaching (PLT) test can be found in Blackboard under the Department: ED organization.

Upcoming Praxis Test Dates in Alabama

You can find out the testing windows for the computer-delivered Praxis tests by clicking here to access the ETS Praxis Testing Center and Dates webpage. Once you are on the webpage, you can find out where Testing Centers are located by clicking on the Find Test Centers button.

Attention students within the College of Education and College of Arts and Science with an Education minor – You can now take your required Praxis exams at the Athens State University Testing Center! The Athens State University Testing Center is now an Educational Testing Services (ETS) Certified Test Administration Site. This certification allows the University Testing Center to offer the computerized Praxis series including the Praxis® Core Academic Skills for Educators (Core), Praxis I® Pre-Professional Skills Tests (PPST®), and Praxis II® Subject Assessments.

To be able to take the Praxis tests at the Athens State University Testing Center, students must register to take the exams through the ETS website www.ets.org/praxis. The site code for Athens State University is STN14800A. Exams are scheduled to begin at 9:00 am and 2:30 pm at the Athens State University Testing Center.
