The Gender and Sexualities Alliance is committed to promoting a welcoming climate for sexual minority students (i.e., Gay, Lesbian, Bisexual, and Transgender) and non-sexual-minority students who are interested in working together to achieve a better understanding of the LGBTQ+ population (including queer, questioning, intersex, allies, asexual, and pansexual individuals). It strives to enhance training and research in LGBTQ+ counseling and psychotherapy. Work with students focuses on leadership development and activism that prioritizes building alliances not only across sexual orientation and gender identity lines, but also across race, ethnicity, and class lines. Resources and training are designed to facilitate coalition building.
