Faith Plunkett – Athens State University

faith-plunkettMy name is Faith Plunkett, and I graduated from Athens State University in December 2011. After working part time in Decatur City for a year and a half, I moved to Monte Sano Elementary in Huntsville to teach fifth grade.

This school year, I teach Entertainment Technology Academy. This is a brand new program in select elementary schools that teaches students how to program computers, design video games, and create animations and more. Since this is a brand new program, I’ve gotten to help write the curriculum.

This summer, I will be working with Liberty’s Legacy to help integrate technology into part of their curriculum. I speak frequently at technology conferences across the southeast.

This December, I presented at the Blue Ribbon Schools of Excellence Conference at Walt Disney World. I was recently named Lead PBS Learning Media Digital Innovator for 2015.

I’m passionate about technology, and giving my students an education that prepares them for the future.
