Physical Plant

The Department of Physical Plant at Athens State University is a service organization whose function is to maintain the physical facilities, as well as the landscape of the university.   We strive to provide a safe, well-maintained, and aesthetically pleasing physical environment that supports the endeavors of our students, faculty, staff, and guests.

Goals

The Physical Plant Department serves as the steward of the University’s physical plant by creating a campus setting conducive to the well-being of students, faculty, staff, and visitors. To support the mission of the University, the Department is committed to the achievement of the following goals:

  1. Provide, develop, and maintain a physical plant appropriate for the support of University programs and enrollment goals
  2. Provide facilities and maintenance-related services to support the day-to-day operation
  3. Ensure optimum levels of effectiveness and efficiency of the University’s capital plan and facilities management program
  4. Secure compliance with regulatory requirements pertaining to physical plant and facilities
