Riunita Martin: PHR
Bio: Riunita Martin is a Human Resources Leader in the Manufacturing Industry. She is highly experienced in a variety of industries with a strong background in government contracting. She specializes in strategic workforce planning, consulting, organizational development, executive coaching and analyzing business objectives to provide workforce solutions.
Riunita is the President/Founder of Career Access Unlimited, LLC. She holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology and a Professional in Human Resources Certification. She is also certified in Internal Investigations and Diversity, Equity & Inclusion Strategy. She is a professional member of the Society of Human Resources Management (SHRM) and serves on the Board of Directors for Arts Huntsville. She serves as a Subject Matter Expert for HRCI in writing test material. She is a member of Women in Manufacturing-Alabama.
Jillian Miles Massey: SHRM-CP
Bio: Jillian Miles Massey is a Talent Management Consultant and Adjunct Instructor with a background in higher education in industry. She has extensive experience in HR and Talent Development Consulting, including training, performance management, process revision, and more.
Jillian serves as an active volunteer leader and professional member of the Society of Human Resources Management (SHRM) and the National Career Development Association (NCDA). She is a graduate of Auburn University with a Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resource Management and a Master’s in Business Administration. She is an SHRM Certified Professional (SHRM-CP), a Global Career Development Facilitator (GCDF), and a Certified Career Services Provider (CCSP).
Dr. Gary Valcana: SPHR, SHRM-SCP
Bio: Dr. Valcana has been with Athens State since 2006. He is an Associate Professor of Management and Chair of the Business Department. He served in the Armed Forces after obtaining his Bachelor of Science degree in Nursing from UAH. After many years in the medical field, Dr. Valcana pivoted careers and began working at a nonunion tire manufacturer.
His career took another turn as his position was absorbed by the Human Resources department. He liked the change so much that he decided to pursue an MBA from the Florida Institute of Technology. After completing his MBA he continued his HR path at a nonunion manufacturing facility in Athens. After several years in HR, Dr. Valcana decided that his experience and education would benefit others, hence his transition into education.
