The Athens State University Board of Trustees has authorized Senator Arthur Orr, Board Chair, to engage in contractual negotiations with Dr. Catherine Wehlburg for the role of President at Athens State University.
“I am honored to serve the Athens State University community and look forward to discussing what the future holds,” stated Dr. Catherine Wehlburg, currently serving as Interim President. “I am committed to leading with integrity, passion, and dedication to the pursuit of knowledge and excellence and am excited to continue the momentum we’ve built thus far.”
“The Board is pleased with the leadership of Dr. Wehlburg and looks forward to entering into contract discussions with her,” said Senator Arthur Orr. “She has stepped into the President’s role with energy and sound judgment that is befitting of the position. I hope we will be able to reach a reasonable agreement and establish Dr. Wehlburg as our new President in the months ahead.”
The Board of Trustees next meets on Friday, May 17, 2024.
