Give to Athens State

“Athens State University changes the face of Alabama by changing the lives of its students.” As defined in the University’s mission statement, your support allows the Foundation to make students’ dreams a reality. Success is measured in terms of the lives affected and the subsequent impact on these students’ families and the community.

The journey of a typical Athens State student begins somewhere other than on our campus. As an upper-division institution, a minimum of 36 credit hours is required prior to admittance. For many, financial commitments, family obligations, or other extenuating circumstances forced a pause in their pursuit of their educational goals. With your help, we provide the support and flexibility that allows them to finish what they started.

“You have made a great impact on this recipient and I am extremely grateful for this opportunity that has been presented. I hope one day that I will be able to return this favor to future students in need.”

Bailie Andrews Williams, Class of 2022

“Your generosity has invigorated and inspired me to do my best, and to also give back in any way that I can.”

Founders Hall Paver Campaign

Athens State University has changed lives, shaped our community, and positively impacted our region. Through the “Paving the Way” initiative, you can leave a lasting impression on the place that has left its mark on so many. Founders Hall, the iconic hallmark of Athens State’s campus, is the perfect backdrop to memorialize such a legacy. Sidewalks surrounding Founders Hall will soon be replaced with brick pavers, providing a unique opportunity to be a part of both Athens State’s history and future.

Emergency Student Assistance Fund

Students often face many hardships and obstacles while working towards their degree. Most Athens State students work while taking classes. Many are considered low income and have families to care for. While trying to balance work, family, school, and life, students often face financial hurdles they are unable to manage, like a large medical bill or car repair or unexpected illness that impacts their ability to work. They often have to pause their education in order to manage these unexpected bills.
