Athens State Welcomes Torregrosa as Assistant Professor of Chemistry

Athens State University is pleased to welcome Dr. Robert Torregrosa to campus as its new Assistant Professor of Chemistry. He received his Ph.D. in Chemistry from the University of Kansas and was a Visiting Research Scholar at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill for three years.

Torregrosa was a Chemistry lecturer at Georgia College in Milledgeville, GA from 2016 – 2018. Most recently, he was a Visiting Assistant Professor at the State University of New York at Geneseo from 2018 – 2020. During that time, he was involved in performing undergraduate research and was an active member of the Student Conduct Development Board of the University.

Torregrosa is a member of the American Chemical Society, Organic Chemistry Division of the American Chemical Society, and Sigma Xi. In his spare time, he enjoys playing volleyball, participating in food tours, and traveling to different places around the area and the country.
