Summer Writing Summit

Join us for the 2nd Annual Summer Writing Summit, a two-day event for faculty, staff, students and community!

This year local authors will facilitate sessions on:

• writing poetry
• beating writer’s block
• writing children’s fiction
• writing crime fiction
• publishing

Students will get help with

• writing capstone papers
• honing research projects
• using AI appropriately
• understanding documentation styles

Teachers will get help with designing courses in the age of AI and academic publishing.

All attendees will have the opportunity to share their works-in-progress, practice their elevator pitch or present their research in a poster session.

Plus! Alabama Poet Laureate Ashley Jones will be here to read her poetry and facilitate a poetry-writing workshop!

1:15 pm – 2:15 pm: VIP lunch with Athens State president & special guests (invitation only)
2:30 pm – 3:20 pm: “Poetry in the Parlor” with Ashley Jones
3:30 pm – 4:20 pm: Concurrent Session III
4:30 pm – 5:20 pm: Concurrent Session IV
5:30 pm – 6:20 pm: Concurrent Session V
