  • Do I have to come to the library in person to renew materials?

    Materials may be renewed by phone (256-216-6669), or online.  Interlibrary Loan materials cannot be renewed online, but must be requested through the ILL office (256-216-6662). The lending library determines renewals for Interlibrary Loan materials.

  • How can I find print journal articles?

    Kares Library subscribes to selected current periodicals in print and has a sizable collection of older print journals as well. Current periodicals are located on the first floor of the library. Older periodicals are located offsite and must be requested. A complete list of our print titles can be found here.

  • Can a student get a job at the library?

    Students may apply at the Student Employment page of the Career Development Center. 

  • I have to buy a textbook for my class. Can I check it out at the library?

    The Kares Library does not purchase or check out current college level textbooks.

  • I need to reserve a group study room. How do I do that?

    Current Athens State students and employees may reserve group study rooms by completing the Book a Room form or by calling the Kares Library Help Desk at 256-216-6669.
