Graduates from the Master of Accountancy (MAcc) program will be equipped with the knowledge to:

  • Demonstrate advanced knowledge of the theory and application of internal audit; information systems; analytics; and financial, cost, and tax accounting
  • Demonstrate an ability to apply advanced analytical and critical thinking skills and problem-solving abilities
  • Apply technologies to understand complex accounting issues and apply that understanding to new contexts
  • Communicate complex accounting issues effectively
  • Recognize and analyze ethical, legal, and policy issues in accounting

The Master of Accountancy’s coursework can help students meet the State of Alabama’s 150 semester hour requirement for licensure as a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) and includes topics that prepare students for exam content.
