As part of the “Athens Forever” Bicentennial Series, Athens State University will be welcoming Sean of the South (Sean Dietrich) to McCandless Hall for “An Evening with Sean of the South” on Thursday, August 18 at 7:00 PM. Following the show, Dietrich will hold a book signing during a small reception in Founders Hall.
Dietrich, best known for his commentary and stories about life in the American South, is a writer, humorist, radio show host, and self-proclaimed biscuit connoisseur. He has authored several books, and his work has appeared in Southern Living, Alabama Living, The Birmingham News, Thom Magazine, and The Mobile Press Register.
