Two New Members Appointed to Board of Visitors

The Board of Trustees is pleased to announce the appointment of Mark Dunn to the College of Business’ Board of Visitors and Dr. Eric Smith to the College of Arts and Sciences’ Board of Visitors.

Mark Dunn is the founder of DUNN Training and Consulting, Inc. He attended Samford University and the University of Alabama at Birmingham and holds a B.S. in Mathematics and Physics. Dunn is also a Microsoft Certified Trainer, Microsoft Certified Solution Developer, and a Microsoft Certified Application Developer.

Dr. Eric Smith is currently a Professor of English at the University of Alabama Huntsville. He holds a BA from Athens State University, a master’s degree from Mississippi State University, and a PhD from the University of Florida.

The Board of Visitors serves to assist the President and the Board of Trustees in promoting and advocating the overall quality and excellence of the University; to advise and assist the University in interpreting the vision, mission, programs, accomplishments, and aspirations of the University; to help keep the University and its constituent parts informed of attitudes, opinions, concerns, and expectations related to higher education in general and Athens State University specifically; and to advise and assist the University with respect to the advancement of the University in all aspects of its mission.
