Coronavirus Update

All campus visitors will be subject to a non-invasive temperature check and COVID-19 screening questions. Entrances have been restricted to Beaty Street at Founders Hall and Hobbs Street. Touchless thermometers will be used by trained hospital technicians/nurses, and individuals with temperatures greater than 100℉ will not be allowed access to campus. Those who are granted access will be provided a wristband, which must be worn at all times while on campus.

Athens State University is committed to preserving and maintaining the health and well-being of all members of its community, including students, faculty, staff, and visitors. In accordance with Governor Ivey’s health order, Summer 2020 classes will begin on May 18 in an online format through Blackboard or another electronic means of learning delivery. We hope to transition the courses originally scheduled as on-ground back to a face-to-face format as soon as we are able to do so.

We are actively planning for students’ arrival back to campus. We have put in place a number of measures intended to keep everyone as safe as possible, including temperature screening at campus entrances, social-distancing protocols, and protective barriers in certain areas. More information will be provided about these practices as we plan for campus operations to resume.
