    Are there scholarships for transfer students?

    Yes! We’ve invested more than $1 million into our students’ education through scholarship opportunities for transfer students, making Athens State the most affordable public, state school in Alabama and Tennessee. From general awards to major-specific scholarships, like the T.E.A.C.H. Scholarship, you’ll benefit from a generous offering of scholarships as well as financial aid.

    Are my college credits transferable? 

    To transfer to Athens State as an undergraduate student, you should have at least 36 hours completed at an accredited institution.   • Transfer Students

    Do transfer students need to take the SAT?

    Students transferring to Athens State do not need to complete the SAT as part of their admissions requirements. 

  • Transfer Students

    How does transferring colleges work?

    If you currently attend or have attended a post-secondary institution and would like to attend Athens State University, you must complete the following steps:

    • Start your application through BearTracks
    • Submit you $30 application fee
    • Submit official transcripts from all previously attended colleges and/or universities
