Title IX

Title IX is a federal law that prohibits discrimination on the basis of sex in any federally funded education program or activity.

No person in the United States shall, on the basis of sex, be  excluded from participation in, be denied the benefits of, or be subjected to discrimination under any education program or activity receiving Federal financial assistance.”

Athens State University is committed to providing an environment free of sexual harassment or sexual misconduct for all individuals in the University Community. Sexual harassment or sexual misconduct by anyone, whether in the classroom, the office, at a University-sponsored function, or during any activity within the scope of the authority of the University’s administration, faculty, or staff, is prohibited and will not be tolerated.
