The Adult Learner Services Office (ALSO) at Athens State University is available to provide a variety of resources to help students incorporate prior learning into their degree requirements.
The resources include:
- The American Council on Education (ACE)
ACE provides reliable course equivalencies for learning obtained outside of the traditional classroom. Information can be found here. - College Level Examination Program (CLEP) & Defense Activity for Non-Traditional Education Support (DSST)
CLEP & DSST exams assess college-level knowledge. College credit can be awarded if students achieve the minimum score that ACE recommends. - Joint Services Transcript (JST)
JST transcripts provide a description of military training received in the Army, Marines, Navy, and Coast Guard and recommendations for awarding college credit based on the training. Send an official JST transcript to Athens State and we will review it for eligible credit. You can request an official copy of your JST transcript by clicking on this link: https://jst.doded.mil/jst/ - Certificates, Licenses, and Training
Athens State University recognizes that you may have completed a certification or acquired a license or training that is applicable to degree requirements or classes that we offer. Contact [email protected] if you have a certificate, license, or training that you would like for us to review. You can click on “Certificates, Licenses, and Training” above to see a list of some of the certificates and licenses that we have previously awarded credit for.
