Athens State Students Win Addy Awards

Two Athens State students were recently honored at the 2019-2020 American Advertising Awards in Huntsville. Ashley Rumph won a Silver ADDY for her still photography campaign “The Road.” Alison Scalf won two Gold ADDYs, one for her branding package for “The Project” and one for her publication design “Futura.” Scalf’s “The Project” design also won Best in Show, while “Futura” won the Judge’s Choice award.

The regional competition represented the entirety of North Alabama, and winners were deemed as best in their market. Students awarded Gold ADDYs will have their work forwarded on to the District competition and will compete against winners in other local clubs in Alabama, Georgia, Florida, and Mississippi.

As the largest competition in the advertising industry, the American Advertising Awards strive to “recognize and reward the creative spirit of excellence in the art of advertising.” The AAF Student American Advertising Awards Competition is designed just for college students and receives over 40,000 entries each year from students across the nation.
